Pompeii is one of the great wonders of the world and to visit it is an unforgettable experience. Placed on Unesco’s World Heritage List, this large, thriving Roman city was covered by volcanic ash from the eruption of Vesuvius in 79 A.D.
Because of its remarkable state of preservation, we can see today the fascinating details of how people lived, worked and played during the Roman Empire nearly 2000 years ago.
Following our guided visit, we take a spectacular drive through green orchards and lava flows up to 3000 feet on Mount Vesuvius.
A pathway continues to the edge of the crater where a local mountain guide will show you around, pointing out the “fumaroles” which reveal that the volcano is still active.
Guide service and entrance fees not included.
